This cat will not touch bits of chicken or pork from our plate, and doesn’t like cheese or milk. What he does like, though, is starch. He licks the crumbs left on the plate from your sandwich. And just now, we were finishing up some seafood noodles, and offered him a bit of surimi. He licked it and turned away. But when we offered a bit of the noodle, he sucked it right down. He is a very odd kitty. But adorable.
I know a kitty (Becca has met him too) who loves Pringles. I asked him “What part of ‘obligate carnivore’ did you not undertand?” But he just asked for more.
BTW, any chance you might tweak the template for your RSS feed to contain full posts instead of just a snippet?
I’ve modified the templates. Let me know if it works, since I certainly have no idea.
Worked like a charm! Thanks.

Hi foodnerd – I’m glad I found your kitty! He is so sweet. It’s funny he doesn’t like meaty/fishy things, my cat does, but he loves rice crackers more (which sent by my mum and very precious to me) and he steals my noodles too!
Hey folks with the starch-loving kitty: minimize his consumption of starch, or he will become diabetic and you will either have to have him put down or inject him every day with insulin. I have friends who had a kitty like this and they had to inject him twice a day and then when he passed-on they were so devastated. Cats can not metabolize starch, they are naturally 100% carnivores, and that fancy, commercial cat food with the rice and potatoes and vegatables mixed-in with the meat is deadly for them, and it makes them crave more starch. I only feed my cat and dog raw meat, as nature intended.
