I don’t generally want to drag politics into this blog, but you have got to be kidding. Never served as a judge? Fucking hell.
This is actually standard practice. If I remember correctly William Reinquist was not a judge before taking his place on the Supreme Court. Does it make sense, not really, but is it something way out there , no.
You wouldn’t want him to start choosing people for their qualifications, now would you?! Loyalty, apparently, is good enough…
