mmm boy that does sound YUM. 🙂

Yes, yes it was.
If we ever open that comfort food restaurant (one of the current pipe-dreams), it’s definitely going on the menu. We just need to find the right name for it, ala the “Mr. Haegar” at the Friendly Toast.
I thoughts maybe “Pumpy Cheggo” but Foodnerd thought it sounded dirty. I followed with “Mr. Cheggo,” and then “Mr. Cheggostein” when she said it ought to sound more Jewish to reflect the pumpernickel.
Her suggestion: “the empty fridge,” reflecting the secret origin of the sammy.
“Hey, what do you want for lunch?”
“I dunno, whatta we got in the fridge?”
“Not much: pumpernickel bread, some cheese, eggs, dijon mustard…”
I dunno, I kind of like “Pumpy Cheggostein,” but I guess I’m just like that.
you should seriously consider entering this in this month’s end-of-the-month-egg-on-toast-extravaganza 1 round up over at spiceblog.blogspot.com. you would definitely be a strong contender for top toast, even if more than two people signed up.
