Check out this article on Slate where the author runs a head-to-head comparison of the Häagen Dazs vanilla ice creams of potato chips. They evaluated 8 types of “gourmet” chips, although only 5 different brands: Lay’s (2), Kettle (2), Boulder, Terra (2) and Cape Cod.
My only real issue: where’s the control sample?
well, I’d have to say that though the evaluation was run properly, they were evaluating the wrong field. Kettle/gourmet chips are all nasty, as far as I’m concerned — it’s the regular, flat, thin, salty chip you want. I whore around with exotic flavor crystals, but my truest love is the plain old full-fat, full-salt chip.
